Machine Operation: Operates conventional machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills and presses to perform work involving complex through routine machining and tolerances that are intricately maintained. Performs machining operations, inspects work and performs quality checks to ensure conformance to engineering drawings. Works as part of a team - must be willing to support the team and collaborate to support quality and production goals.

RESPONSIBILITY:
• Performs machining operations necessary to produce the Company’s manufactured products.
• Machine work is performed from standard documentation, rough sketches, and preliminary drawings.
• May exercise limited judgment in determining fabrication methods to be used.
• Occasionally required to improvise and use shop mathematics.
• Performs roughing operations. Picks and cuts stock for various jobs.
• Inspects own work in process and performs quality checks to ensure conformance to engineering drawings.
• Must support STS Quality policies.
• Works with limited supervision. Follows detailed written and/or verbal instructions/procedures.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Ability to work in machine shop environment and operate conventional machine shop equipment.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written, verbal instructions, and sequence of events.
• Basic math skills.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift reasonably heavy loads up to fifty pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Ability to work in a moderately uncomfortable environment, i.e.; extreme heat and noise.
• Ability to work under pressure and work well with others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School or Trade School preferred
• 1-3 years related experience in manufacturing and/or machine shop environment.
• Experience with lathes and mills are a must.

Field Technician: Field Technician operates conventional and unconventional heat exchanger tools in the field on heat exchangers boilers condensers, etc, and must operate in a safe and effective manner within the confines of Chemical and Petro-Chemical and Power plants. Hydraulic experience is a big plus but the individual can and will be trained to STS requirements provided that the proper basic skill set is in place. Travel abroad is required and compensation is based on experience and expertise in the field. Safety requirement include a TWIC card and all completed safety courses necessary for each environment. Performs machining operations, inspects work and performs quality checks to ensure conformance to engineering drawings. Works as part of a team - must be willing to support the team and collaborate to support quality and production goals.
